Organic NZ Salmon from Ormond's Aquaculture Salmon Farm
We produce Quinnat Salmon (also known as Chinook) and Sockeye Salmon. Our Salmon Farm is situated in Wairau Valley near Blenheim. Our farm is fully certified organic by AgriQuality (CERTNZ). We produce our own salmon food from certified organic ingredients and we don't use GE hormones or antibiotics.
Our Salmons are sold either whole, loose or vaccuum packed fillets like smoked salmon. These will keep refrigerated for at least 6 days from harvest, the vaccuum packed 2 days longer. A Gravadlax and a hot smoked Salmon fillet is also produced, which is salt brined and smoked with Beech sawdust. Gravadlax is salt curred Salmon with dill, peppercorns, mustard seed and a touch of brandy - this is eaten raw.
Ormond Aquaculture has won several of the Marlborough District Council Environment Awards and has been closely involved with a stream enhancement project in Wairau Valley.
